Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 11, 2012, 2:00am. So don’t forget to change your clocks Saturday night!!
So why do we have Daylights Savings Time? The main purpose of Daylight Saving Time (called “Summer Time” in many places in the world) is to make better use of daylight. People change their clocks during the summer months to move an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. Countries have different change dates. Did you know that Daylight Savings Time was first thought up by Ben Franklin? For more great information, check out http://www.webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/index.html.
